- We are hearing that the Catalan independence groups aim to mobilise hundreds of volunteers and activists as the Tour starts in Barcelona in July??? If there will be protests in Barcelona, Spain should be stripped of the grand tour- Vuelta and all World Tour races. Enough of this terror. We want to watch how Pogi and Seixas will "destroy" Vinnie, and not drunk protesters making a mess.
- Oh, this is going to be a fun tour to watch. All this ambition from so many people. The racing will be excellent, let’s hope.
- It's nice that Gianetti congratulated Vinnie for the Giro win. Pogi also didn't have any serious competition in 2024 Giro. So let's compare the Giro and Dauphine 2026 start list. Four second class cyclists who were in the top 5 at the Giro, couldn't even think about a podium at the Dauphine. And some people are still saying that the Giro is a big race. Dauphine doesn't even have Remco, Pogi and Vinnie. Everything is clear to everyone, except to the blind.
- It is good for it to become a three horse race. But that also means that they and their teams will go hammer and tongs at each other leaving no room for other team climbers
- Is Onley the most overated and expensive signing ever ? Seixas - Del Toro 'sat on him in Strade & spoilt the broth for a linkup with Pog. there, never have liked that tactic on the Road, technically he should win this, tho Del Toro may play games again, tho Ayuso would be good to shine but he seems to have bad luck, tho has a helluvan engine!
- Love the attitude. Why do you race? To win. Need more guys like this in pro sports.
- This was not supposed to be his role or position, the winner of the TDF and Giro, but too many crashes means something changed in him physiologically.
- Rubbish heading, making it seem like Seixas would be the one stopping Olav. Removing Kooij doesn't even do anything for Seixas because their support squad is not even deep enough to add a climber. The only reason why he'd not start would be a lack of fitness. The Tour of Belgium provides some punchy opportunities where Olav could show that he's back to where he was in the harder races.
- Time for a salary cap to even the playing field vs allowing petrostates with unlimited funds buy up the riders and win all the races.
- I see both of these as sloppy team management. SD-worx knew how the rule was written and should have had a safety margin built in. Both of these make women’s cycling look like amateur-hour.
There has been too much criticism of the race officials on the Weibes case. The UCI guide says 6.800kg, not 6.8, and the penalty is a DQ. Had they not DQ’d her, the second place team should have protested. I do think the UCI should change the penalty for stage races to something like “relegation and yellow card”.
