Alpecin-Deceuninck set to sign track star Robbe Ghys

Alpecin-Deceuninck are still making moves in the market, and the team of Mathieu van der Poel seems to be on the brink of confirming a new signing in track specialist Robbe Ghys.

Ghys has been riding for the Sport Vlaanderen - Baloise team on the road and last year he beat Remco Evenepoel to a win at the Baloise Belgium Tour - until today, his sole win as a pro road rider. However it is on the track that he's displayed his talent more, with an European Madison title in his palmarès, and having in recent week finished on the podium at both Madison and the Points Race at the Europeans.

The 25-year old had been linked to Team DSM earlier this year, but is now seemingly on the way to the Belgian team which will rise to World Tour level. He will join the likes of Kaden Kroves, Soren Kragh Andersen and Quinten Hermans as new faces within Alpecin-Deceuninck.
