Chris Froome has so far completed two stage races in what might be his final season in professional peloton. In meantime, the seven-time Grand Tour champion went on an adventure that was perhaps even more adrenaline than his legendary downhill attack on Peyresourde in 2016.
Through an
Instagram video we find out that Froome used the bit of free time between cycling trainings to pop up at the famed Monte Carlo racing circuit. That, of course, wasn't on a coincidence as he had an appointment with Bruno Correia, former Portuguese racing driver, who is currently safety car driver in E-Formula and Medical car driver in F1.
Froome joined Correia for a quick lap on the Monte Carlo circuit, getting a first-hand feel of sitting in a racing e-car driven by a professional. We can judge from his expressions (well-hidden under helmet) that the experience was rather enjoyable. Maybe he even learnt a trick or two on how to tackle corners for his remaining cycling races.
