Lidl-Trek are one of the fastest growing and most ambitious teams in the entirety of the peloton. Could that ambition and quest for improvement be set to see two of their most loyal servants depart at the end of the 2025 season though?
Well, according to a report by the well-respected British cycling journalist Daniel Benson, both Jasper Stuyven and Daan Hoole are on their way out of the Lidl-Trek team.
Stuyven, a winner of notable races such as Milano-Sanremo in 2021, Omloop het Nieuwsblad in 2020, the GC win at the Deutschland Tour in 2019 and a stage of the Vuelta a Espana in 2015 among other successes, has raced the entirety of his World Tour career with Trek - Segafredo / Lidl-Trek. As mentioned though, according to a report by Benson, the 33-year-old Belgian is set for a new challenge in 2026, although information on just where he will ride remains clouded at the moment.
Hoole meanwhile, has more often than not sacrificed his own ambitions in order to help his teammates for the majority of his career, becoming a key domestique for the team since breaking through back in 2021. His departure seems more solid, with Benson reporting that the Dutchman is set to join a seeming fleet of riders heading from across the peloton heading to Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale for next season.
