- What is there is people going for the win are even more conservative in their attacks than those trying for seconds. Half hearted attacks and chasing down any attacks with the whole thing ending in a sprint won by whoever conserved the most
- That could have been a fabulous title for a novel by C.S. Lewis or Tolkien. For a bike race? C'mon

- Imagine you organize a game in your town and only locals and neighbors participate, then you bring TV crew to broadcast it and sell it to people as top game, just like Belgians sell the story of great Eddy who competed in a sport that was, in those days, what cyclocross is today...a village competition. Not to even mention the doping problem, which was very poorly addressed, in those days.
- Yep, maybe Roger De Vlaeminck was also a doper, considering how much he praises Merckx... but he was never caught.
- Yesprobably as eddy was a doped rider like most of the peleton then . I would be suprisedif any race was won clean by eddy.

- chapeau to greg!
hope he can talk MVDP into triathlon after mathieu is done with road and cx.
- The 78-year-old ignorant geezer De Vlaeminck is a hypocrite. Clearly he deserves nothing but derision if not plain ridicule. He's a laughing-stock for his hypocrisy and stupidity. He may be old, but he can not be respected because his words are deliberately, consciously and calculatedly mean.
- Plus cross is super watchable. Frankly a lot more TV friendly than road racing.
