Pavel Sivakov takes a sensational victory in the Giro della Toscana ahead of Richard Carapaz and Tadej Pogacar

Pavel Sivakov won the Giro della Toscana after a brutal attack on Richard Carapaz just before the entrance of the last kilometer. Tadej Pogacar finished fourth in his comeback to racing.

The EF Education-EasyPost and INEOS Grenadiers riders were the strongest. They both broke away and put the win on the line. Sivakov, knowing that Carapaz was faster for a sprint finish, attacked with just over a kilometer to go on a small climb. Carapaz was not attentive and lost a few meters that made him yield to his rival. Pogacar, on the other hand, who had not been able to follow the attack of the two strongest riders of the day, finished fourth as teammate Felix Grossschartner wrapped up the podium.
