Starting January 1st, 2024, Ryan Kamp will no longer be riding for Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal having failed to secure himself a contract extension.
Although Kamp's contract at Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal has expired and a contract elsewhere is still yet to be found, the 23-year-old Dutchman will continue as an individual rider for the foreseeable future.
A big help to Kamp have been the Roodhooft brothers, bosses at Alpecin-Deceuninck. “They didn't have any vacancies, but they did ask me to call if I didn't have an option yet at the beginning of December,” says Kamp to Wielerflits. “Then they managed to arrange a salary and top equipment for me. Both Colnago and Campagnolo are new to me. But these two top brands together form a fantastic combination, even though they have disappeared from view in cyclocross in recent years.”
“Everything came together very recently,” Kamp explains further. “I've only had my bikes for a few days and the rest is far from completed. I don't even have a shirt sponsor yet, but I'm really happy that I can continue. Maybe this will grow into something bigger or I will get an opportunity to ride elsewhere. That remains to be seen. But for now the relief is enormous, because I was convinced that my professional career was over.”
🇳🇱 Ryan Kamp will ride as individual on Colnago with Campagnolo, connected with help of the Roodhooft brothers. "All are teams are full. But we thought it was unacceptable for Ryan to disappear from the peloton. We guarantee a salary until end 2024." 👏https://t.co/MF1SS0ztbf
