Tibor Del Grosso claimed a hard-fought victory in the men’s race at the
Superprestige Diegem, emerging on top after a dramatic finale shaped by crashes and fading legs under the floodlights.
The race initially revolved around Del Grosso and
Thibau Nys, with the Dutchman striking early and Nys gradually clawing his way back. A prolonged tactical phase followed, allowing
Joran Wyseure to rejoin the leaders and turn the contest into a three-man standoff.
The decisive moment came in the sand. Nys crashed heavily and took Wyseure with him, while Del Grosso escaped the chaos and opened a crucial gap. Nys mounted one final effort on the Regimentsberg, briefly closing to within five seconds, but the move emptied his tank. Wyseure capitalised, moving into second as Nys was forced to back off.
Del Grosso held firm on the final lap, even finding time for a confident jump on the bridge, to secure the win. Wyseure finished second, while Nys recovered to take third ahead of Mees Hendrikx.
Further back, Michael Vanthourenhout completed an impressive comeback to finish sixth after his first-lap crash, limiting the damage in the Superprestige standings.
