A dream realised in Veneto
The breakthrough came after Norwegian rider
Sakarias Koller Loland powered to victory at the
Veneto Classic, securing Uno-X a coveted WorldTour licence on the very last day of the season. The result guarantees the team automatic entry to all three Grand Tours for the next three years — an extraordinary step up for an organisation founded less than a decade ago.
For Cort, who joined the project in 2024, the promotion marks the realisation of a long-standing dream. “It’s great. It’s obviously a huge achievement,” he said. “It’s something the team has been aiming for over many years. It’s been a calm and steady development in the right direction every single year – and now the breakthrough has come.”
Victory in Veneto secured Uno-X World Tour status
“The journey isn’t over”
Uno-X have already had a taste of cycling’s biggest stage, with wildcard invitations to the Tour de France over the past three seasons and a stage win through Jonas Abrahamsen in 2025. But competing as a full-fledged WorldTour outfit brings new demands — and fresh motivation.
“It’ll be a new challenge, but one we’re ready to take on,” Cort said. “We’ve got three years now to prepare for what’s ahead. I don’t think the journey I’m on with Uno-X ends just because we’re a WorldTour team now. We’ll come in as one of the smaller teams, but step by step, we’ll grow — hopefully into one of the biggest.”
Cort’s ambitions are equally clear for next season. The 31-year-old Dane, who boasts nine Grand Tour stage wins across all three races, hopes the team’s new status will give him the chance to tackle another demanding double. “I’d really like to ride two Grand Tours again next year,” he admitted. “A Tour de France – Vuelta a Espana combination — that’s what I’m hoping to get on the calendar.”
For now, though, there’s a sense of satisfaction at Uno-X — not just for what they’ve achieved, but for how far they’ve come. After years of building from the ground up, the modest Nordic team will finally line up alongside the sport’s biggest names — and if Cort’s Snapchat feed is anything to go by, they intend to enjoy every moment of it.
