Vlasov, Higuita and Higuita options for Liège-Bastogne-Liège as BORA - hansgrohe look towards podium

Three climbers headline lead BORA - hansgrohe at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, a race where they promise to have a strong saying. Aleksandr Vlasov, Sergio Higuita and Jai Hindley all take part in La Doyenne in search of a podium result.

Aleksandr Vlasov was building his form at the Tour of the Alps ahead of the Giro d'Italia. In the queen stage he rode to second place which was a good sign of what's to come, and he abandoned the race before the final day in order to prepare for Liège. Joining him are Giovanni Aleotti, Patrick Gamper, Patrick Konrad and Ide Schelling.

Sergio Higuita looked in great form at Itzulia Basque Country but hasn't performed so far in the Ardennes - he abandoned Amstel Gold Race and finished 77th at Flèche Wallone. Hindley finished 12th in an Amstel Gold Race which did not suit him which was a strong sign of form, however he didn't start Flèche Wallone due to a respiratory infection which treatens his level this Sunday.

BORA - hansgrohe for Liège-Bastogne-Liège:

Giovanni Aleotti, Patrick Gamper, Sergio Higuita, Jai Hindley, Patrick Konrad, Ide Schelling and Aleksandr Vlasov.
