VIDEO: Tour de France 2023 stage 2 highlights

Another thrilling day of racing in the Basque Country continued the electric start to the 2023 Tour de France. Cofidis's Victor Lafay ambushed the favourites to take the win from an elite group in the finale.

With the pace kept high throughout the stage, the peloton was considerably thinned on the final climb of the day and heading into the finale, only around 25 riders remained at the front of the group. When Victor Lafay attacked and rode clear in the final kilometre, the chase behind stalled allowing the Frenchman to take a brilliant victory.
