The Côte de Pike is 2.1 kilometers at 9.4%, but it's ramps go up to 20%. This will be the final climb of the explosive first day of the 2023 Tour de France and many riders have already gotten to know the climb, including Wout van Aert and Jonas Vingegaard.
The first day of the race could see a fight for the overall classification, but will with certainty see puncheurs and climbers fight for the stage win. Hence, some riders whilst doing their course recon have already climbed it at a serious pace, and this Friday many fans were in the area to watch it. Among them were Jumbo-Visma, with both Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert cranking up serious watts up it today - with the latter taking the Strava KOM of the climb, which is a frequent appearance in some Basque classics.
