Stage 2 of the 2023 Giro d'Italia was as expected a sprint finish. The chaos of the final few kilometres ensured however that the run-in to the line was anything but straightforward.
After a major crash just 3.7km from the line ruled Mark Cavendish, among others out of victory and caused a number of general classification riders to lose time it was Jonathan Milan of Bahrain - Victorious on just his second ever Grand Tour stage who took victory.
