Important changes in the General Classification of the Giro d'Italia after Stage 2 crash

The fall with 3.7 kilometers to go in the second stage of the Giro d'Italia has caused some changes in the general classification of the race. None of the favourites were directly involved in the crash itself, but there was a cut that caused some of the top 10 to lose a few seconds.

Neither of the pre-race favourites Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic, lost time. The worst off were INEOS Grenadiers and UAE Team Emirates, as Tao Geoghegan Hart, Brandon McNulty and Jay Vine dropped a few seconds. The likes of Hugh Carthy, Jack Haig and Rigoberto Urán were all also effected by the crash.

LOSSES

- Favorites that came home with the front group: Evenepoel, Roglic, Almeida, Thomas, Vlasov, Caruso.

- At 12 seconds McNulty finished

- 19 seconds behind the leaders, Geoghegan Hart, Vine, Pinot, Haig, Carthy, Urán, and Pozzovivo came across the finish line.
