UCI Rankings Team Update | UAE Team Emirates has over double the points of next team; Visma finally in second place; Astana's World Tour dreams sink deeper

With the Tour de France wrapped up it is possible to make the math on this season's UCI rankings and the growing trend of UAE Team Emirates' dominance may have reached a peak. After finishing first, fourth and sixth in the Grand Boucle, the team officially has over double the points of the team that is the closest: Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
It was only a matter of time, and the time has arrived in July. UAE finally broke the barrier and now has over double the points of rival teams. INEOS Grenadiers who were scored only around 1400 points over the past month whilst UAE scored over 6000.... INEOS is now in third place as Visma soared up from seventh to second place in this update, scoring around 4300 points to become UAE's closest competitor in 2024 when it comes to the points. Lidl-Trek remain in fourth place whilst after a very poor Tour, Decathlon have lost their third place and now sit in fifth, adding only just over 500 points in this most recent update. Soudal - Quick-Step climbed from eighth to sixth after Remco Evenepoel and Mikel Landa's superb Tour. Alpecin-Deceuninck, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe (fifth to eighth after a disastrous Tour), Lotto Dstny and Israel - Premier Tech complete the Top10. These are only the UCI points scored in 2024, not the 2023-2025 rankings which decide the teams that will have a World Tour license from 2026 onwards.
However in both rankings Astana Qazaqstan Team remain in the very bottom. Despite Mark Cavendish's historic triumph at the Tour, the team did not manage to score enough points to close the gap to it's rivals. 700 points were added since the previous update; Arkéa - B&B Hotels who are also at risk scored around 600; But teams like Cofidis and Team DSM-Firmenich PostNL have scored similarly throughout the Tour.
