The 2024 edition of the Tour Colombia, scheduled for February 6-11, promises to be even more intriguing with the participation of three world elite teams: Astana Qazaqstan Team, EF Education-EasyPost and Movistar Team, along with other teams from the Pro Team and Continental categories and a Colombian team led by Egan Bernal.
The Colombian Cycling Federation, in an interview for the program La Hora del Ciclismo on Antena 2, revealed some names that could accompany Bernal in this exciting edition. Mauricio Vargas, president of the entity, not only confirmed Egan's participation in the competition, but also revealed other members of the national team.
Along with Bernal, the Colombian team will have the presence of outstanding cyclists such as Brandon Rivera, Jesús David Peña, Jhonatan Restrepo, German Darío Gómez and Juan Diego Alba. This selection represents a skillful combination of youth and experience, which will undoubtedly be key to face the challenges of the demanding route in the departments of Boyacá and Cundinamarca.
The inclusion of these talented cyclists in the national team increases the excitement and interest of cycling fans in Colombia, who expect to see their idols shine in the Tour Colombia 2.1. The competition will close in the vicinity of the National Museum in Bogotá, as confirmed by the president of Fedeciclismo to Antena 2, adjusting to the situation of indigenous occupation that has affected the National Park.
