Israel - Premier Tech will be riding the Tour of Britain with high hopes and ambitions as their maintenance at World Tour level will depend on a consistent and strong set of results throughout the final month of racing. Michael Woods and Dylan Teuns have the responsibilities of chasing strong results.
According to the most recent UCI points update, Israel is over 1000 points behind Movistar Team - who are expecting many at the Vuelta a Espana - and EF Education-EasyPost. The British race, a 2.Pro event, will have many points available, however they will not be easy to obtain. Dowsett will be supporting Dylan Teuns and Michael Woods who on their best day would be able to thrive on such hilly terrain that'll be spread around many stages, however questions over the form of both arise as Teuns hasn't performed since arriving at the Israeli team, and Woods has recently abandoned the Vuelta a Espana due to a rough crash.
Team DS Zak Dempster is an experienced figure on these roads, and he has previewed what to expect throughout the eight days of racing: “We need to race it on the front foot in order to force a selective race more suited to our leaders. We have to race attentively, every stage, here in Great Britain. “Therefore we can start with great ambitions. Teuns and Woods will be our leaders and we aim for results in stages and in the general classification". The team is completed by countryman Mason Hollyman, and domestique duo Corbin Strong and Reto Hollenstein.
