Tadej Pogacar's dominance is becoming more and more astonishing. For Fernando Escartín, a Spanish cycling legend, the most surprising thing is his ability to start races with a mental advantage over his rivals. This he said in statements to
Mundo Deportivo.
"Pogacar's dominance is abysmal," begins Escartín. "Psychologically he already comes out 2 points ahead of the rest (of his rivals). We are very lucky to be able to see a rider like this. He doesn't hold anything back, if he waited until the final 20-30 kilometers he would win anyway, but he attacks at 80-90 km to the finish line and gives a show."
For Fernando Escartín, what he loves most about Tadej Pogacar is his attitude in any scenario: "I love how brave he is. He doesn't give a damn about the distance, when he sees a moment he doesn't think twice, he starts and that's it, without looking back," he says.
Even so, Escartín is confident that the fight with
Jonas Vingegaard in the Tour de France 2025 will be even. Which would be great news for the spectators: "I think that in the Tour de France with Vingegaard it's going to be pretty even, he's the one who can do the most damage," he concludes.
