Paul Magnier is a Soudal - Quick-Step rider until 2029. The Frenchman still had an ongoing contract, but the Belgian team took no chances when it came to their new top talent which, at 21 years of age, already has 24 stage win in his palmarès and promises to deliver more.
“Paul is a rider with exceptional talent and an extraordinary competitive instinct. From the moment he turned professional, he showed maturity and natural leadership beyond his years, combined with the hunger and ambition we value so highly at Soudal Quick-Step," team CEO Jurgen Foré said in a press release.
Magnier turned pro with the team in 2024 and together with Luke Lamperti, formed a talented duo that were aimed at becoming potential new sprint leaders in the Belgian team. Whilst Lamperti has now departed towards EF Education-EasyPost, Magnier had an astonishing 2025 season and is a set leader, only overshadowed by Tim Merlier who is none other than one of the very best sprinters in the sport.
"His results speak for themselves, but just as important is his mindset and his willingness to learn, grow and lead within the team. Extending his contract was a clear and confident decision for us. Paul represents a key pillar of our future, and we are excited to continue developing and winning together over the long term”.
Magnier has taken 19 wins this year, the second out of all male riders, only topped by Tadej Pogacar this year. Last season he had already worked with Remco Evenepoel, and this year he continued his winning streak throughout the year; specially ending on a bright note as, in a modest calendar, he took 14 wins in the space of five weeks. But in the big leagues he's also already performed at a high level, notably coming within inches of winning Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in February.

Magnier wants to become a classics specialist

“These first two years with the team have been incredible. I love the atmosphere in the squad and the bond I have with the riders and the staff, and I feel enormous support and trust from everyone," Magnier assured. "On top of that, I have the best possible conditions to perform. Coming off a season with 19 victories, it means a lot to know the team believes in me and wants to keep building together. I’m proud to continue my journey with the Wolfpack for the next four years".
Whilst the team signed Alberto Dainese as a third lead sprinter in the team; the big bets in this transfer market were the classics specialist Jasper Stuyven and Dylan van Baarle, who will not only lead the team but also provide valuable experience to the Frenchman, who was even termed the 'new Tom Boonen' by teammate Yves Lampert.
“The team has continued to strengthen its Classics core, and this gives me huge confidence that I can keep progressing in this direction. Being surrounded by so many experienced riders is incredibly valuable for my development, and I want to make the most of that. My goal is to keep improving and to win races — not just this season, but consistently in the years ahead”
