Jordan Jegat of
TotalEnergies was one of the breakthrough riders of the 2025 Tour de France, finishing in the Top10 after a very combative race, riding for a French ProTeam. His 2026 season hasn't had quite the same start however, but in his first race day he immediatelly took a high level victory at the
Classic Grand Besançon Doubs.
The 26-year old has had a knee injury which prevented him from racing earlier. Now in mid-April, it's a late start to the year, but just like Remco Evenepoel 12 months ago, he entered it firing all cylinders, winning a climber's race against two riders that are known for their ability.
The 175-kilometer long race had an ascent to Montfaucon to end it, 3.9 kilometers at 8.9%, a steep one where tactical racing wouldn't be very effective. That is a great part of why he won, as in the finale he saw himself head-to-head against two riders of the Decathlon CMA CGM Team -
Matthew Riccitello and Léo Bisiaux.
