It is media day at the
Soudal - Quick-Step camp today and the riders are talking about their plans for the 2024 season. Among them is
Remco Evenepoel, whose schedule is now official throughout the grand part of the season as he prepares for his
Tour de France debut.
Pieces had already been connected over the past few months but they are now official. The Belgian champion will start his season at the
Figueira Champions Classic on the 10th of February, quickly followed by the
Volta ao Algarve, where he will meet Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel. Then,
Paris-Nice follows. After a small break from competition, possibly coinciding with a training camp, he will race
Itzulia Basque Country where he'll meet Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic.
Evenepoel will race the full Ardennes tryptic, making his presence felt at
Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallone and Liège-Bastogne-Liége. Then, Evenepoel will meet the previous two riders again at the Criterium du Dauphiné as he followed the traditional run-up to the Tour de France, where he will be aiming for the best possible result in the GC. The
Olympic Games and
World Championships are naturally also on his schedule, and he should be racing both road race and time-trial in both.
