The
Tour de France Femmes 2025 will be a very exciting route featuring a start in Bretagne and a finale in the Alps. The top race in the women's calendar starts on the 26th July and ends on the 3rd of August. We
preview stage 6.
The race becomes tougher and on the sixth day we have the toughest of the Massif Central climbs. The 124 kilometers between Clermont-Ferrand and Ambert have five categorized climbs, the final three will be difficult and the race has the potential to explode in the long Col du Béal.
The first big climb of the day is over 10 kilometers long at 5.6% but it already starts with some climbing beforehand. What follows, with descents inbetween each ascent, is 6.4Km at 5.4% and 4.6Km at 5.1%. Today we've already seen how even the small climbs can make the difference and we've also gotten a very good idea of who will be in the fight for the overall win in this race, specially as so many have withdrawn from the race already.
Kim Le Court goes into the stage in the yellow jersey but will have a very big test in the long climbs, which are not her specialty. FDJ - Suez has four riders in the Top13 and so it is certain that they will not race such a tricky stage conservatively, and
Demi Vollering showed great signs of recovery today. The Dutchwoman could want to win the stage and move into the yellow jersey, but it will never be an easy task even if that's the case as
Katarzyna Niewiadoma,
Anna van der Breggen,
Sarah Gigante and Pauliena Rooijakkers all passed the test today on the climbing and have proven to have good form. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will have here her test to understand if fighting for the overall victory is possible or still distant.
