The Tour of Guangxi is the final World Tour event of the year and it closes out the calendar in Asia. China hosts the six-day race where there are still lots of UCI points to attribute and some meaningful victories too. Stage 3 will take place on the 16th of October and is estimated to start at 04:12CET and finish at 08:55CET.
Stage 3 is another day for the sprinters, with a rugged finale and 214 kilometers in length which may make it tricky for a few men that can't climb so well. However for most sprinters the climbs won't be enough to create serious damage, and the fast finale into Bama should see the fast men once again fighting for victory.
The day will see a little more towards the end with three catgorized ascents, the last of which finishing with a mere 12.5 kilometers to go. Once again we may have a strong group of riders trying to get in the day's breakaway so as to obtain bonus seconds that can be beneficial later in the week, and some attacks in the hilly area as any second can decide the race. The stage distance also allows for some more fatigue to build up which can up things quite a bit more.
However the main favourite and man to beat is inevitably Paul Magnier still who would enjoy a hard pace on the climbs honestly. The Soudal - Quick-Step rider has now won two out of two stages and there's no indicator that he isn't the strongest sprinter in the race. In a pure sprint a lot can happen however and the likes of Pavel Bittner and Jordi Meeus provide very worthy winners if they find themselves in the right position.
