EF Education-EasyPost will be one of the most interesting teams heading into the Tour of Flanders. They come in with several weapons for the cobbled race who are rated as outsiders, but a result is definitely possible.
Neilson Powless and Mikkel Honoré were on great display at the recent Dwars door Vlaanderen. In a race where the main splits were done in the climbs, both made it into the winning group. From there Honoré was aggressive, and Powless attacked in the finale to survive the charge of the peloton and race into third on the day. Having a great season when it comes to stage-races, the American also recently finished 7th at Milano-Sanremo and is a true outsider for this race, having the climbing capacity.
Alberto Bettiol, race winner in 2018 was initially announced as part of the lineup, but has been pulled out last-minute. Jens Keukeleire, Owain Down, Tom Scully and Jonas Rutsch complete the lineup. All four are strong rouleurs which will provide the team with a lot of support early on, and could be crucial if echelons are to occur early in the day.
