A few days ago, Nairo Quintana announced his renewal for another year with Movistar Team. As a result, speculation has already begun about the Colombian climber's possible calendar for the 2025 season. According to information coming from his home country, Colombia, the 34-year-old will be present at the 2025 Tour de France.
It is a news that has advanced ciclismocolombiano, although according to our sources the veteran is scheduled to do Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España again, as in 2024. Since the problem he had with the Tour in 2022, he has not participated again. In that edition, he finished sixth in the final general classification, when he was still riding in the colors of Team Arkéa Samsic, but was subsequently disqualified after testing positive for tramadol. This also led to his absence from the peloton in 2023.
In this season in which he returned to Movistar, Quintana first rode the Giro. There he rode as a domestique for his compatriot Einer Rubio, who was 7th. The winner of the 2014 edition did not do badly despite arriving with doubts due to a preparation truncated by a fall and finished 19th. He also came very close to winning a dream stage in Livigno, but Tadej Pogacar went all-out on that day and overtook the Colombian not far from the finale.
Quintana did also race the Vuelta a España and later on the Italian Autumn classics where he showed decent form but was unable to fight for a victory. The news of his renewal with the Spanish team came late, but have been confirmed as he gears up for another season at World Tour level.
