"My future? A wise man once said: We'll see" - Primoz Roglic open on future in pro cycling

Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe have Jai Hindley, Florian Lipowitz and Giulio Pellizzari as Grand Tour specialists all looking towards their opportunities, alongside Primoz Roglic. Now, the German team is preparing for the arrival of Remco Evenepoel as a new team leader and there are fair questions regarding the role and space that the Slovenian will have. However, Roglic is not looking to answer those questions at the time being either.

At the start of Tre Valli Varesine, the veteran lined up together with Hindley and Pellizzari who rode a very strong Vuelta a España together. The trio should all be present at Il Lombardia, where Florian Lipowitz has been confirmed to not be present as he's concluded his season. Roglic was questioned about what next season will look like. His answer came in the form of his traditional style:

"My future? A wise man once said: We'll see. We'll see how it goes today and the coming weeks, but normally I'll still be riding next year," the ever ambiguous Roglic said i the microphones of Eurosport this morning. "We haven't spoken to Remco yet, but I want to sit down with him". This year Roglic rode the Giro d'Italia and was a strong contender for overall win, but struggled with an injury after falling on the gravel stage. He still managed to go on to reach his very best level into the Tour de France, showcasing his form specially in the mountain time-trial where he was third to Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard.

However he sat in fifth place into the final mountain stage, and after risking it all there, he lost several positions. No doubt Evenepoel will be above him in the team's hierarchy, but what Roglic may do or where he may race is an open question for the time being. "I think it will be very important for us to have an open and honest relationship from the start of our collaboration. There hasn't been any discussion within the team about what will happen next season".
