Matteo Trentin finished sixth in the third stage of the
Tour de Suisse, a 176.9km journey from Aesch to Grenchen. The day was highlighted by a breakaway of six men, whose last survivor was caught less than 10 kilometers from the finish. The sprinters launched in the last kilometer to seize what may have been their last chances in this edition of the race.
“The team worked well. I lost a few positions in the penultimate corner trying to get up to Kristoff, but I found some riders stalled and I had to put in an effort to overtake them," Trentin said in a post-race interview.
"I finished sixth, but I know I can do a lot better. Tomorrow we hope to have another chance to improve .” said Trentin. He currently holds 90th postion in GC after third stage of Tour de Suisse and will be looking for more opportunities at success.
