"It feels like a dream at the moment" - Tobias Lund Andresen sweeps Tour of Turkey sprints clean

Tobias Lund Andresen had shown great legs so far this season but is truly having a breakthrough at the Tour of Turkey. Team DSM-Firmenich have won again, and it was the Dane's third win of the week.

This came as a result of another powerful sprint where he was above the rest of the competition, where Fabio Jakobsen was also conservative and let his teammate hunt the triumph in an unexpected way. “Fabio was behind my wheel and I was in the wheel of Bram, everything was going perfectly and according to plan. Fabio told me he got a bit squeezed and that I had to go for it," he said in a post-race interview. "I hoped that Fabio was in my slipstream and could come around me in the end, but when you get so close to the finish then you have to secure the win and finish off the good teamwork from the guys."

The Dutchman seemingly did not sprint however, and Andresen beat to the line TImothy Dupont and Manuel Peñalver. A week of domination for DSM. "This is really crazy to have five wins in seven stages and be leading the GC, everything is going right for us and we have a lot of momentum, it feels like a dream at the moment."

With one day of racing to go, Andresen will once again be a big favourite for the win in Istambul. However, the team will also prioritize defending Frank Van den Broek's GC lead. "GC is also a priority for us as well as the sprints. This morning everyone was trying to jump in the break to go in the break so they could get some bonus seconds, so we were all jumping to control that, even Fabio controlled a few attacks. A GC win here for us with Frank would also be massive. We’ll definitely give it our best tomorrow to go for it again," he concluded.
