"If the rumours are to be believed..." - Remco Evenepoel calls rumoured Giro d'Italia time trial 'tailor-made for me'

Remco Evenepoel is most likely going to the Giro d'Italia. This can already be accurately accessed at the time being as, if the Giro d'Italia route features a 40-kilometer long time trial as its rumoured, Remco Evenepoel has already expressed that it is perfect for him and should be the natural choice for the first Grand Tour in 2026.
Het Laatste Nieuws recently reported that this would be the case and for the organizers of the Corsa Rosa, it seems like an easy and logical way to easily attract a rider who is currently an Olympic, World and European Champion. Evenepoel would fight for the pink jersey, most likely alongside Jonas Vingegaard and Isaac del Toro as main rivals.
"An effort of at least 45 minutes, tailor-made for me. That's already a good start, a step in the right direction," he said to the Belgian news outlet. "But we still want to wait for the official presentation on December 1st and see what else is on the menu before defining our ambitions.”
Regardless of what comes early in the route, the truth is that the Tour de France's notable lack of flat time trialing kilometers makes it a very unnatractive route to his abilities. Hence if the Giro, without Tadej Pogacar, also provides a better suited route, than Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe do not have a difficult decision on their hands.
"Because if the rumours are to be believed, a gruelling final week awaits there as well. In that sense, it would be great if there were a second time trial, for example. The more, the better," he concluded. The route will be announced on the 1st of December, and on the 10th the Belgian will speak to the media in Mallorca where he should reveal his schedule, as will several other of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe's leaders.
