The opening stage of the 2025
Giro d'Italia ultimately went along with predictions and no important gaps for the general classification were created on a circuit in Tirana.
Primoz Roglic navigated through today's stage safely also thanks to responsible ride of his
Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe colleagues who kept their leader safe from any dangers.
Brief as ever, the Slovenian shared few impressions from today's stage with national RTVSlo. "It was a good day," Roglic said. "Although the roads were quite slippery and it was also quite hot on the way. But the team was very good today, I can only compliment everyone, all praise for my teammates. They made sure that I was always where I had to be. It was a successful stage for us."
Big test of the Slovenian's legs awaits already on Saturday with a 13.7-kilometer time trial in the streets of Tirana awaiting the peloton. Former Olympic time trial champion Roglic will be one of the favourites to win, and potentially wear the pink jersey on his shoulders from tomorrow onwards.
