On the weekend of the 28th of February and the 1st of March there is a closely-connected duo of races in France, taking place in the mountainous region of Ardèche: The Faun-Ardèche Clasic and the Drôme Classic. The Faun-Ardèche Classic was created back in 2001 and throughout its first years had winners from countries such as Algeria and Moldova, quickly capturing an unusual international reputation. However it quickly began to build a strong reputation with winners such as Jean-Christophe Peraud, Christophe Riblon and Arthur Vichot...
Many of France's best are present in the race's palmarès in recent years such as Romain Bardet, Lilian Calmejane, Rémo Cavagna, Davis Gaudu, Julian Alaphilippe and
most recently in 2025 Romain Grégoire - the Frenchman won the sprint after several riders went the wrong way in a roundabout.

The Drôme Classic is younger than its weekend sibling the Faun-Ardèche Classic, however it has a similarly strong reputation. Although its debut edition in 2013 was cancelled due to snow, in 2014 Romain Bardet rode to victory before he would go on to become one of the country's most popular figures in modern cycling. In 2022 Jonas Vingegaard notably took his only one-day race victory, building towards his first Tour de France win.
