#TDF2023 Another day, another opportunity! Today it’s Dylan’s turn 🤞
A winner of five Tour de France stage wins in the past, Dylan Groenewegen has been disappointed at his performances in the 2023 edition, yet to really threaten another sprint victory.
"It has to be better and I know that," the Team Jayco AlUla sprinter told NOS before the start of stage 7. “Hopefully I will do a little better than the previous opportunities. The speed is good, but it has to come out on top now and not from 25th. It's hectic, yes, but it's like that every day.”
On the two sprint days of the race so far, Groenewegen has only managed finishes of eighth on stage 3 and fourteenth on stage 4. As he says himself, results must improve. The question though, is how?
"I do not know," the 30-year-old Dutchman admits. "I just need to be able to sprint free and then I'll see who else can get over it. I can take Philipsen's wheel, of course. He can be beaten, otherwise, I would have a problem for the rest of the Tour.”
