Giro d'Italia 2024 stage 4 GC update | Tadej Pogacar stays in pink; Cian Uijtdebroeks climbs due to bonus seconds; Ben O'Connor saves the day despite crash

In stage 3 Tadej Pogacar tried to surprise the peloton with an attack in the final climb in search of winning his second stage of the current Giro d'Italia 2024, but the day was decided with a final sprint that had little effect on the overall classification. Tuesday's stage 4 had a similar ending, although this time it was Filippo Ganna who attempted the attack with 4 km to go and Jonathan Milan the winner of a stage that, although it didn't offer much change in the battle for the maglia rosa, there is a minor change.

Pogacar maintains the lead with the same 46 seconds he had over Geraint Thomas at the start of stage 4. The only change in the Top 10 affected Einer Rubio and Movistar Team. The Colombian rider has dropped to 5th place after Cian Uijtdebroeks' bonus second snatched late in the day, which brings him to fourth place

For the rest of the Top 10 riders (Daniel Martinez, Lorenzo Fortunato, Juan Pedro López, Jan Hirt, Alexey Lutsenko and Ben O'Connor) everything remains the same, although we have seen O'Connor crash on the day; and Daniel Martínez suffer a puncture at the finale of the stage - which was not detrimental to his GC as it was inside the final 3 kilometers.

Overall classification Giro d'Italia 2024 after stage 4:
