Jonathan Milan has been celebrated as the winner of the points classification at the Giro d'Italia. It was a breakthrough performance, where the Italian proved his true worth in the sprints.
The Italian rider took the maglia ciclamino at the second day of the race after Remco Evenepoel, and has never again lost it. He was involved in breakaways, but above all his points came from the raw power he put out in the many bunch sprints. The Bahrain - Victorious rider was certainly one of the positive surprises of the race, with breakaway specialist Derek Gee and Michael Matthews closing out the podium.
