GC update Tour de France 2025 stage 6 - 1 SECOND takes Mathieu van der Poel back into the yellow jersey ahead of Pogacar

The overall classification has changed once again after stage 6 of the Tour de France. Former race leader Mathieu van der Poel joined the day's breakaway in an attempt to recover the yellow jersey and has succeeded - by a single second!

The Alpeinc-Deceuninck rider struggled very much in the final kilometers of the stage, but his brave effort was rewarded with a trip to the podium at the end of the day as Van der Poel managed to get himself 1 second ahead of Tadej Pogacar in the GC. In the peloton there was a strong pace up the hilltop finish with small gaps opening between some Top10 contender but nothing crucial. Do to a late mechanical Mattias Skjelmose lost some seconds; whilst stage winner Ben Healy managed to get himself in the Top10 with his effort.
