The 2025 season has reached its conclusion and within
INEOS Grenadiers, it was without a doubt a negative season. A few glimpses of success and different tactics made it a different year for the British team, but
it arrived to the end of the season only as the eight best UCI-point scorer. However, points aside, who raced in the British team's jersey more often this year?
The British team has seen
Ben Turner put on its colours the most this year, this comes as a result of him completing both the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España. The latter wasn't actually in his plans, it was a last-minute change but the right one as he went on to take his first Grand Tour win in the opening week. Turner raced a full cobbled classics campaign, the Baloise Belgium Tour, and still completed the Cro Race after taking on what was a very heavy season. He was also one of INEOS' most successful riders of the year.
In a close second place was
Samuel Watson, who had 81 race days (unlike Turner's 82). Watson made his Tour de France debut and throughout the year never had much of a break. He started his season with the Tour Down Under, and raced every single month until completing his season at the Tour of Britain in early September. The British champion managed to take that win at home however, as well a stage win at the Tour de Romandie - his first World Tour triumph - as well as a stage win and GC at the 4 Jours de Dunkerque.
On the opposite side are two riders who stood out for the low amount of race days. One is Laurens de Plus, with only 25 by the end of the year. The Belgian had a superb start to the year, finishing third at the Volta ao Algarve, being Filippo Ganna's key right-hand man at Tirreno-Adriatico, and then riding himself to sixth at the Volta a Catalunya. Social media posts suggest he was then part of the Tour de France block, but after a lot of altitude training, he abandoned the Tour de Suisse for unclear reasons and finished his season in mid-June. Not everything for the Belgian is bad however, as
he will welcome his first child next year.
Ben Turner is the man who raced the most in the INEOS Grenadiers jersey this year. However he didn't always wear the standard equipment. @Sirotti
But the rider who raced the least for INEOS in 2025 was
Caleb Ewan, who was signed on the 23rd of January officially and then was given two months to prepare for his debut. Ewan, with modest competition, managed to win twice in eight race days - once at the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Baratli and Itzulia Basque Country. He didn't finish either race. Then on the sixth of May the Australian announced his retirement from the sport.
