The final update of the 2025 season features Asian races such as Tour of Guangxi and the Utsunomiya Japan Cup Road Race, two Italian classics - Giro del Veneto and Veneto Classic -, the NIBC Tour of Holland and Chrono des Nations.
You can check the previous UCI rankings update here. After the final week of the 2025 season is over, the 2023-2025 ranking is complete, and we already know what 18 teams will receive World Tour status for the 2026-2028 period.
Two WT teams have fallen short to the top 18, which are Cofidis and Arkéa - B&B Hotels. Both are French teams and in both cases their performances during this 3-year span have been far from great. In the case of Cofidis, it had a solid 2023 season, accumulating 10.437 UCI points and sitting in the middle of the ranking. However, 2024 and 2025 seasons were much worse for the team, which was overtaken by most other squads, including Uno - X in the final weeks of this year.
Arkéa - B&B Hotels, on the other hand, never really had a good season points-wise. Despite granted access to the Grand Tours and other major races, it was never really able to capitalize on that, sinking on the classification and finishing more than 3.000 points off the 18th place.
Moreover, the team has been economically struggling in the recent times. Losing the WT license put an end to the team, as it was not able to attract new sponsors for the upcoming season. It will be one less team in 2026, a sad but recurring situation in cycling.
Uno-X Mobility finished 19th, just ahead of the aforementioned Cofidis and Arkéa- B&B Hotels. While this should imply a pro team licence once again, the final outcome will be their first experience at the World Tour thanks to the Lotto and Intermarché-Wanty merger.
These two Belgian teams have finished 12th and 18th respectively, but they officially announced that both structures will merge ahead of the 2026 season, which means they will just take one WT licence. The remaining will be awarded to the team finishing in 19th, which is Uno - X. A historic and well-deserved feat for the Norewgian squad, whose 2025 performance (10.816 points compared to 7.599 scored by Cofidis) was decisive to secure the right to ride all the best races.
Two WT teams losing the licence implies that there are two pro teams being promoted. It is the case of Lotto, despite 2025 being a season to forget for the team (only 6.547 points, and they even gave up the Giro d'Italia), and also Israel-Premier Tech, which had three solid seasons and comfortably finished in 13th place.
The Israeli team had to skip several races at the end of this season, including Il Lombardia, and they also announced they will drop the name of Israel in an attempt to avoid hostilities towards the team, although their official name for 2026 has yet to be revealed. Anyways, they have a guaranteed spot in the World Tour for the next 3 years.
On top of the leaderboard, UAE Team Emirates - XRG finished with 109.173 points, well ahead the second team, Team Visma | Lease a Bike, which ended with 72.939 units. Lidl - Trek closes the podium with 55.311 points, beating other super teams such as Soudal Quick-Step, INEOS Grenadiers and Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.
Finally, Tudor Pro Cycling Team deserves a special mention. The team has grown exponentially in the 2023-2025 period, going from just 2.766 points in 2023 to 10.026 in 2025. They have invested a big amount of money and signed some top riders such as Marc Hirschi, Julian Alaphilippe or Michael Storer, who all have performed great. If they continue like this, they will most likely become a new World Tour member in 2029.
