The 2025 Veneto Classic marks the grand finale of Italy’s autumn racing block, wrapping up the season on October 19 alongside the Chrono des Nations. A relatively new addition to the calendar, the one-day 1.Pro race has quickly carved out a key place in the late-season landscape. It’s an event that blends opportunity and desperation, valuable UCI points are still in play, and for the punchy classics riders, it’s one last chance to grab a meaningful win before winter. Fast, selective, and scenic, it promises an intense conclusion to the Italian campaign.

This year’s edition covers 180 kilometres between Soave and Bassano del Grappa, a manageable distance, but far from an easy day. Riders will face roughly 2,300 metres of climbing, with the first 50 kilometres rolling out flat before the race dives into the hilly circuits that define the Veneto terrain. The repeated efforts will begin to bite as the peloton tackles two ascents of a 3 km climb averaging 5.6%, followed by five passes over the La Tisa climb. Though shorter and less demanding on paper, La Tisa ends with a brutal 400-metre stretch at 10%, perfectly suited for late-race attacks and small-group splits. The final ascent crests 19 kilometres from the finish, likely shaping the composition of the front group.

From there, the race heads into its decisive phase, a stretch designed to reward both courage and precision. Riders leave the circuits behind and face two sharp late climbs, starting with the notorious Diesel Farm. This 1.2 km ramp averages 10.2% and unfolds on gravel, with the descent equally treacherous off-road. Once over the top, the peloton has little time to recover before hitting another ramp: just 450 metres long but again at 10%, cresting with only 4 kilometres to go. From there, as the saying goes, it’s mostly downhill to the finish in Bassano del Grappa, a finale that balances chaos and control, where every second of effort could define the closing story of the 2025 season.
