Filippo Ganna will take to the startline of the 120th edition of Paris-Roubaix one of the dark horses for overall victory. The INEOS Grenadiers powerhouse has long dreamed of being able to lift the most coveted cobble in cycling.
Despite the Hell of the North being one of the biggest one-day races on the cycling calendar though, Ganna reveals it is far from the most enjoyable. "I don't understand people who say that Roubaix is a fantastic race, because you can't say that," the Italian laughs."It's good for people who stand on the side of the road or watch it on TV, but among the runners, no one will tell you that this race is fantastic."
Nevertheless, Ganna reveals Paris-Roubaix has long been a race he's wanted to be successful in. "It's a personal motivation for everyone to write their own story," says the 26-year-old. "I have great teammates who can help me. They trusted me at Milan-San Remo and I showed that it was not for nothing. I hope they will see me as a leader for Roubaix too I will fight every moment hoping to win."
"I dream of having this trophy in my hands, I'm ready!" Concludes Ganna who will lead an INEOS Grenadiers team supported by the likes of Joshua Tarling, Luke Rowe and Magnus Sheffield.
