Christophe Laporte will remain with Team Visma | Lease a Bike until 2029. The Dutch outfit has announced the Frenchman’s extension through the end of the 2029 season, keeping a key piece of one of the peloton’s strongest teams. A significant move in the transfer market.
Laporte joined the team in 2022 and has since become one of the team’s most valued riders. His versatility, experience, and ability to perform at the highest level have made him a leading figure both in the Classics and on stage races.
The Frenchman has balanced his own chances with major work in support of his teammates. During his seasons at Visma he has taken some of the biggest wins of his career, including several prestigious Classics, and he was crowned European champion in 2023.
His race-reading skills and his willingness to ride for the team have made him a trusted rider for the Dutch formation. Laporte can chase his own goals when the chance arises, but he also plays a crucial role for leaders and sprinters.

Laporte extends with Visma until 2029

“I’m very happy to continue with the team. I have already enjoyed great moments here and I’m very grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me. That’s why I’m very pleased that our path together continues. I hope we can achieve and show many more important things together with the team in the coming years,” Laporte said.

Marc Reef, Visma’s head of competition, highlighted the Frenchman’s versatility and his commitment to the collective.
“Christophe has shown over the years how valuable he is to our team. He is a rider with the quality to win major Classics and other important races, as he has already shown in our colours, but at the same time he is always willing to put the team first,” Reef noted.
The sporting director also stressed his experience in decisive race moments.

“The way he uses his experience and strength in the final kilometres can make a big difference. We know we can rely on Christophe in many different situations and his experience is extremely valuable for the group,” he added.
