Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig to miss Strade Bianche after fracturing sacrum at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Having crashed at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad over the weekend, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig is now set to miss Strade Bianche after medical examinations revealed that she had suffered a fractured sacrum.

The Danish rider was forced to abandon the race on Saturday after the crash, which will now leave her out of action for an undetermined period of time as her team continue to assess the severity of her injury.

She had been set to ride for FDJ-SUEZ in Tuscany on Saturday at Strade Bianche, where she finished third last year. It is unknown when Uttrup Ludwig will return to racing, as recovery period for this type of injury can vary.
