Now back on the bike and hoping for good form, Ewan will be racing the Circuit Franco-Belge, otherwise known as the Eurométropole Tour, where he will be teaming up with the like of rising star
Arnaud de Lie and Tour of Leuven winner
Victor Campenaerts in search of an important win but also big UCI points.
“Nevertheless, I have to be realistic: due to the surgery and the mandatory week of rest I obviously lost a bit of shape," the Australian admits however. "I still experience some light pain but it doesn’t bother me too much anymore, which is a good sign. So immediately battling for victory will be difficult but it is a nice race to get the legs going again and prepare for the next part of the season".
Ewan will have big goals for the latter part of the season, where he will look to get back to his winning ways after getting no victories at either Giro d'Italia and Tour de France. "The first goal is the Bemer Cyclassics Hamburg on 21 August, followed by the five-day Deutschland Tour. After that, I will most likely race a couple of one-day events to hopefully focus on the World Championships in Australia afterwards," he concluded.
