Koen Bouwman has just had a career-changing Giro d'Italia, with two stage wins and the conquest of the KOM classification. He's now recovering, after a crash has seen him break his forearm.
“Of course I had a wonderful three weeks and who knows, this may be a springboard into the future. Maybe this is it, no idea. This will never be taken from me again. Now it is together with the team to see how and what to do," he said.
The Dutch rider was said to be set to return to racing in the Tour de Suisse and the national championships, however that will not be possible as he suffered a fracture in a forearm due to a crash during a mountain bike ride.
Bouwman will hence have to delay his return to competition, before preparing and eyeing results in the second half of the season together with Jumbo-Visma.
