Tadej Pogacar was scheduled to defend his title at Liège-Bastogne-Liège tomorrow but is a last-minute absence from the race.
Pogacar's partner Urška Žigart - rider for the women's Team BikeExchange - Jayco - has shared on social media this past Thursday that her mother had passed away, and the couple travelled back to Slovenia. It is understood that the UAE Team Emirates rider is still in his home country, and has opted to forego on the finale of his spring campaign - which as the time being is not the priority.
