Alejandro Valverde was born on April 25, 1980, so he turns 43 today. The Murcian retired from road cycling at the end of last season, but the bug continues to bite him and just this past Sunday he made his debut on the UCI gravel circuit with a crushing victory in La Indomable.
As of today, we don't know if Valverde will continue to compete in more gravel events, if he will be interested in the World Championship or if he will focus more on other tasks within the
Movistar Team structure. What we do know is that he continues to train on the roads of Murcia with the same assiduity with which he has done throughout his life.
