Arnaud Démare misses Volta ao Algarve due to Covid-19, Stefan Küng and Valentin Madouas lead Groupama-FDJ as they prime form ahead of classics

Groupama - FDJ are having a strong lineup for the Volta ao Algarve. Whilst their climbers prepare for other goals, the French team had it's classics leaders and Arnaud Démare primed for the Portuguese race, but Arnaud Démare is a last-minute absence following a Covid-19 infection.

The team won't be without an option for the fast finishes however, as both Jake Stewart and Paul Penhoët take to the start. The French team has most of it's leadout present anyhow in the five-day race, with Miles Scotson, Olivier Le Gac and Lewis Askey all looking to benefit from the fast finishes.

The team will have an option for the GC in Stefan Küng, who will be a favourite for the final time-trial as well where the GC should be decided. Alongside Valentin Madouas, the duo looks to prepare for the cobbled classics, whilst simultaneously set to test their climbing legs.

Groupama - FDJ for Volta ao Algarve: Paul Penhoët, Miles Scotson, Valentin Madouas, Stefan Küng, Olivier Le Gac, Jake Stewart and Lewis Askey.
