The Giro d'Italia has had it's first big star confirming the goal of overall win in 2025, as Primoz Roglic will lead a very strong Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe in search of the pink jersey. The German team will look to perform in every Grand Tour, and Roglic explains the reasoning behind his Giro-Tour double.

"The Giro was an easy decision. We will ride in Slovenia and then the Tour as the second grand tour was also an easy decision," Roglic said in a press conference, in words captured by In de Leiderstrui. "It would be a pity if I didn't start there, right? I would like to be there. A fifth overall victory in the Vuelta? Yes, I would have settled for it. But I'll do the Vuelta again sometime; it's nice to do something different for a change. In the coming years, I'm happy to go for it."

BORA has talked about the main cards to play for all Grand Tours and it is something that will please the Slovenian, winner of five Grand Tours throughout his career. At the Giro he will be backed up by none other than 2022 winner Jai Hindley and this year's runner-up Daniel Martínez. It could potentially make for the most dangerous lineup at the start.

Roglic will start the season at the Volta ao Algarve and will also have the Volta a Catalunya in his schedule, before tackling the two three-week races.

At the Tour de France Daniel Martínez should be present against backing up Roglic and potentially chasing stage wins, as will Alexander Vlasov and Florian Lipowitz. Vlasov and Jai Hindley should co-lead the team's GC aspirations at the Vuelta a España; whilst the team's cobbled and hilly classics blocks are now highly talented and also capable of fighting for big wins.

"This shows that, with our investments, we are focusing on the three biggest stage races of the year. We believe we will be competitive in all three races because all races deserve respect," he concludes.
