Steve Cummings was a head DS at
INEOS Grenadiers but was one of the many staff members who left the team after this chaotic year. He has joined
Team Jayco AlUla after being dispended from the British team, where he reportedly had a bad relationship with Tom Pidcock.
Cummings was an important figure within the team but in June it was stated that
Cummings would not be the team's DS at the Tour de France which was an indicator of internal issues, specially after the release of the Tour de France Netflix documentary which attempted to show drama between him and Tom Pidcock.
Pidcock dismissed this rumour but recently an anonymous staff member corroborated this argument, having said that "Steve tried to bring him back into line but it backfired and Steve is paying for it. Ultimately, Pidcock doesn’t like Cummings, and Cummings doesn’t like Pidcock".
“I am very much looking forward to joining Jayco AlUla. This team has a strong reputation for professionalism and dedication," the Briton said in a post issued by the Australian team. "That matches my own values and experiences in the sport. I look forward to contributing to this success and helping all teammates reach their full potential.”
“For me, this means more than just joining a team. It’s an opportunity to be part of a culture that values growth, resilience and results. With a long career behind me, both on and off the bike, I already know many of the team members. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get to work with them.”
