- Firstly, no athlete whatever his past record can be called a lock in professional sport (just ask Mike Tyson)! Having said that, Pog certainly is a prohibitive favorite considering his feats this year, though he has not gone head to head with Jonas - presumably his closest challenger. It is also likely that the heat wave will be a factor, and the one who can manage his engine without blowing up the radiator will probably win.
- funny story - my brother was struck by lightning 2 x, same beach - he is in Pensacola FL area. so yeah totally.
but when lightning strikes 2 x same place, or when there is a weird anomaly, you look into it. my point.
- that would be interesting!
- I wouldn't say it's impossible... if Conca did it last year Marcellusi cam certainly do better
- You do realize 'lightning can strike twice in the same place' rather than it being the exception .
- Pogacar is a class act, no doubt about it.
- While I know that Tadej, who's form is ahead of Jonas heading into this years Tour, has to deal with a second or third wave of heat that's currently rolling through France this week (although next week looks like normal temps) it will benefit Jonas as he's always been able to deal with the high temps a little better than Tadej. If I were Jonas, I would pray for 40C temps everyday in July.
And before anyone points out that Tadej has actively used heat adaptation training in the last few years, yes I already now that, but I'm saying this now anyway as I believe it could push Jonas' chance to gain some time on certain stages in this Tour.
- Good catch :)
- The Pog actually put 12:47 into the Rog over 4 days (no time gaps on stage 3)
- may get more money but it just waste of his talents to make him a domestique of Remco in GTs. Jonas is a proven winner.
