Movistar Team's
Marlen Reusser has taken control of the general classification at the 2025
Vuelta a Burgos Feminas by sensationally soloing to the stage 3 win atop the monstrous Picón Blanco.
With the stage all about an ominous finale on the mythical slopes of the Picón Blanco, the peloton were happy to let a strong, seven woman group go clear early to form the breakaway. Among the most notable names on the attack were former Paris-Roubaix winner Alison Jackson (EF Education-Oatly) and cyclocross star Annemarie Worst (Fenix-Deceuninck), with the latter also being the best placed on GC of the break at just 1:56 down at the start of the day.
With 12km to go and the foot of the final climb almost in sight, the break was swallowed up by the peloton. As the road then started heading upwards, it wasn't long before things at the front really started to thin out. The first big attack then came from 2nd on GC Marlen Reusser at 4.3km to go, with
Yara Kastelijn right onto the back wheel of the Movistar Team leader.
